Goggle Earth with 3D

Original Post on google blog... [http://googleblog.blogspot.com]

Sketchup already has a plug in that allows you to export 3D models into Google Earth. If you've got Google Earth (you do, right?), then check out a few 3D examples (these are KMZ files):
Statue of Liberty
SketchUp headquarters
Google Mountain View campus

GUYS do trythese examples.. a must c I would say... soon we can imagine the complete google earth in a new 3D interface.. wow awaiting..

Did NASA Lie

Well this is a part of a chain Email I received today.. and is a shocking one which REALLY made me THINK....

Did United States ever send man on moon as claimed by them?? Have a look at these startling facts and decide yourself....

The famous picture of Neil Armstrong planting the US flag on the moon's surface. What is wrong with this picture? As claimed by NASA, the astronauts did not take lighting equipment with them. Therefore, the only source of light on the moon was the Sun. The various arrows on the picture indicate the various directions in which the shadows are falling. Just how many suns are there around the moon's vicinity?

Footprint of Buzz Aldrin. Again, the various arrows indicate the various direction of shadows falling. Meaning there was more than one light source in the studio. Not totally convinced by this photo, I must admit.

A heroic photograph. Just happens to be noticed, that if there is no atmosphere on the moon, therefore, no winds. Then how is it that the US flag is clearly waving in both these pictures? Not just a rod across the top, but it's fluttering in the wind. Again, no atmosphere, therefore, it should be clearer to see outer space from the moon than it is from earth. Then how come in all of the pictures NASA released, there are no stars in the sky?

The lunar lander behind the mysteriously waving US flag has a landing mechanism that forces 25,000 pounds of upward thrust. They landed succesfully, and then took off with the same amount of force when done. It just seems a little odd that when such a massive force of heat and pressure is generated directly against the moon's surface, no crater of any sort is formed beneath the lunar lander. But yet, in the picture of Buzz's footprint, the footprint of a 180lb man is so nicely engraved in the moon's surface.

Just way too many things wrong with this picture. 1) No stars in the sky 2) If you look in Armstrong's visor, you will see the reflection of the person taking the photo. Taking a look at his shadow.. It would make sense to think that the Sun would be directly behind Armstrong. (The main focus guy, not the reflection guy). Then how come it also appears that Armstrong's body is receiving light from his right side as well? Notice how his right shoulder is so much brighter than his left. Notice that no lighting was taken to the moon, so a flash camera does not explain the lighting on this photo. 3) The object marked with a "C" is the camera that was placed on the chests of all astronauts. If this picture really was taken by the guy whose reflection we see in the visor, then that person would have to be approximately 7 - 7 1/2 feet tall. Which none of the Apollo crew members were. It couldn't be that the camera was pointed upwards for this picture because if you looked at the background, it is obvious that the photo is taken on a declining angle - ie, from an elevated position. And the reflection of the person who supposedly took the photo shows that he is standing perfectly straight and not on any sort of elevation such as a hill or a rock.

Here's a cool picture of the astronaut getting off the Lunar lander. Even here on earth, when something / someone is in a shadow, it is barely visible. On the moon, however, there are no air molecules; which would mean that anything in a shadow would be pitch black. But yet, in this picture, even though the man is clearly within the Lunar lander's shadow, he is so nicely lit up that even his butt crease is visible!
PS. No stars in the sky nor is there a minute sign of a crater beneath the lander.

The lighting from the studio was NASA's biggest give away of a hoax. Armstrong and Aldrin are pretty much the same height. So then why is it that Aldrin's shadow is almost twice the size of Armstrong's?
PS. Even if the Americans landed on the moon and planted the flag on it, and believe that it is still their, then their belief is as useless as this hoax. The flag was planted 10 feet from the lander. The fakeoff from the moon should have fried it up even before they got out of visibility range from the flag, but yet the astronauts claim the last glimpse they saw of the moon right after takeoff was of their glorious flag on the moon's surface.

What ur take on this????

Written exams ended this Wednesday and almost every DCEite celebrated d day in his own way. I with my few friends (Chadha, YV, PC, Shekhar, Mayank, Jha, Kshitij) went out for a movie (Dewane Hue Pagal) on samrath (show 6:30-9:30) followed by dinner at Punjabi Rasoi. We all celebrated it as d day of freedom as if its our last exam of life n tht no 1 gonna touch d books again, but sadly in couple of days, books found their way back in our hands- Its practicals and more importantly - d Viva time.

Control+A can reveal a lot

1 can find many many articles on the secret behind google search but I guess the algo. , d funda behind it is more or less not that crystal. One thing is sure that apart from meta tags, they do consider the Page Rank/ page value for a particular word/string.
What I mean by page rank/value is that google provide some value to everypage its crawlers spot according to the relevant text and no. of times a particular word/string is referred in the contents of that page.

Just look at a website:
http://www.internationalrentals.com/

You will notice only a small page but with a loooolng scroll bar. Why??
Press Control+A to select all and then again scroll down~~
U can now c a much loooooooonger list of some words (location names in this case as all locations are relevant words)
The site admin did this on the homepage and all other subpages to increase the Page Rank in google and no doubt if u search for some Holiday hotel packages, u can find this website in top results... Not many know how 2 fool google~~ hehe

Deleting from Map isnt a solution

If you've got time on your hands - have a look at Apple's headquarters from Google and MSN's rival map sites. Both sites offer aerial photos alongside maps.

and this is the pic of same location on google maps

Can u spot the difference???
Well Google shows the Apple HQ - a lovely, shiny building probably full of iPods, iPacs and MAC OS X. MSN on the other hand shows an apparently empty field. This could be no more than an old picture taken before HQ was built or a glimpse of an imagined future :))

Microsoft in any case cant compete with Apple like this.. need to pay more attention on New Microsoft Vista , OSs and less on rival Apple!!
This is simply a NON - PROFESSIONAL ACT

Gmail was down 2day~:-((

At around 11:00 am when I switched on my computer and typed http://www.gmail.com in my browser address bar, the page that appeared was not what I expected from Gmail.
The window was :

It says "Server Error. Gmail is temporarily unavailable. Cross your fingers and try again in a few minutes. We're sorry for the inconvenience"

Then I tried opening the atom feed link of gmail and this is what I got :

It Says "Logged-in-but-no-mailbox" ??? seems like Gmail have changed the server and were switching the mailboxes from one place to another.

After some time the page http://www.gmail.com was :

"The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request. Please try again in 30 seconds"

The worst part is: All this lasted for more than 30 minutes...

PHP : what is it ???

Almost all d web script I develop are programmed in PHP which according to the books stands for Hypertext PreProcessor. I always used to wonder ki yaar kuch to khapla hai... PHP can not stand for this odd string and finally 2day while reading some online forum, I came to know that initially it was released as Personal Home Page (PHP) but later it developed to a stage when the need demanded to name it somethng which can sound much better and they changed it to Hypertext PreProcessor.

A reminder of the past; a keepsake.
